Quedgeley Wanderers - FA Charter Standard

Quedgeley Wanderers football club are very proud to have been recognised at a recent Gloucestershire Football Association presentation evening when they were selected as a County Winner at the Annual Awards Evening, and awarded the FA Charter Standard Development Club Award.

This award is in recognition of all the hard work, constant efforts, improvements and achievements that Quedgeley Wanderers, and all it's volunteers, have made during the 2007 / 2008 season. It was presented to Joe Alps - the club Chairman, by Roger Burden (GFA Chairman and FA Board Member) at the awards presentation night in June.

Quedgeley Wanderers is a large club with over 400 members ranging from U6 - U16 in the Junior section as well as having 3 teams in the senior section. They are based at their home ground - Waterwells, in Quedgeley where they have just held a very successful tournament weekend.
A band of volunteer committee members and mangers continue to work hard at all levels to ensure everyone can enjoy their football. Many teams have had successes in local tournaments and all are now looking forward to the new season in September.

If any one is interested in joining the club please see contact details on our website at www.qwfc.com or telephone Joe Alps on 01452 540777.

£9K COMES QUEDGELEY’S WAY

Quedgeley Wanderers Football Club, one of the very few FA Charter Standard Development Clubs in the County, has been awarded a grant of £9,582 from Awards for All, a scheme supported by the Arts Council England, the Big Lottery Fund, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Sport England. The money is earmarked to assist the Club in its aim of providing football coaching and playing opportunities for the children and young people in the Quedgeley area.

Some of the money will be used to finance maintenance equipment for the Waterwells sports facility, allowing the Club to take greater responsibility for its new home: The remainder will be used to purchase training and first aid equipment, as well as funding coaching, first aid and child welfare courses.

Awards for All funds a wide range of projects and activities by awarding grants of between £300 and £10,000 to not-for-profit groups for people to take part in art, sport, heritage and community activities, and projects that promote education, the environment and health in the local community.

SAFETY WARNING – MINI STEEL GOALS PLEASE NOTE!

If you are using the new mini steel goals located @ waterwells they must be pegged down AT ALL TIMES with special pegs provided in the steel container.

Under NO circumstances to be used without pegging down if they swing on bars which they shouldn’t do anyway but if goals fall the weight will cause serious injury.

And I mean SERIOUS INJURY so please note! !
